Oops, time got away from me a bit!
I ended up taking a bit of a break while I focused on my daily schedule. Also it turns out that writing detailed posts every day totally takes it out of you! I still fall into that trap of consistantly trying to do better than my last thing and well, that definitely doesn't work with something like a blog.
I plan on finishing my Special Interest Week, they should be done pretty soon! Today I just wanted to talk about nice it has been to cook more for my dog!
Over the last year I've slowly been giving him more and more freshly made food. It's been interesting to learn to adapt some recipes so sometimes I could share the same food that I am eating with him. I've learned to appreciate things like garlic more by not having them in every meal I make. And there's something about unseasoned vegitables and rice that I find really relaxing. I don't want it for every meal though!!
In the last few months my dog has taken to not eating his kibble at all until he's gotten some homemade food. I'm still not always up to doing a bunch of cooking so I've seen him leave his food out hours past dinner time. I feel ya buddy, I'd hate eating dry powdery kibble every day too.
I hope to eventually not have him eating kibble at all but, I still have a ways to go even with my own nutrition. It was such a delight tonight though to see him eat his chicken vegi and rice soup that I made for him. He seemed so pleased when he was done eating. I'll definitely be taking his enjoyment as a compliment, he can be pretty fussy about the stuff he enjoys~ (Even if chicken is a pretty safe bet...)
Making food for others is definitely an art form that is a practice in impermanance. It takes so much energy to produce and yet it's gone in an instant! Oh well, there's always more baking to be done tomorrow~
Do you enjoy making food for others? If so I bet they enjoyed it even more!
Until next time~
